Geneva, Switzerland and Grass Lake, Michigan, October 18, 2018 – SGS is pleased to announce the acquisition of Inter-Basic Resources, Inc. (IBR), based in Grass Lake, Michigan, USA and Milton Keynes, UK.

IBR is a leading provider of state-of-the-art testing and verification for air and fluid filtration performance across multiple industries. It offers comprehensive testing services throughout the entire spectrum of filtration services, with laboratories in the United States and the United Kingdom. IBR serves an extensive client base that crosses the globe.

Founded in 1984 and privately owned, IBR employs approximately 25 people and in 2017 generated revenues of around USD 3.5 million.

“This acquisition broadens our services within non-woven materials, particularly filtration performance, allowing further expansion of value-added services to our customers and core industries,” said Frankie Ng, CEO of SGS.

Grass Lake, Michigan, USA and Agen, France, March 30, 2017 – IBR Laboratories and IFTS, today announced they have executed a Cooperative Agreement to provide mutual testing and certification services.  IBR and IFTS will promote and market certain of each other’s services.  They also intend to engage in knowledge sharing and research and development activities which are expected to provide benefits to both companies and their respective clients.

Susan Goldsmith, IBR Founder and President commented “Having IFTS as a partner laboratory with its complimentary technical strengths will allow IBR to offer expanded temperature capabilities as well as pilot filtration studies to its clients.”

Expressing his thoughts, Vincent Edery, IFTS Managing Director noted “With laboratories in both the USA and the UK, the cooperation with IBR will allow IFTS to provide our clients with unsurpassed expertise in air filtration and a broad culture of standardized methodologies in filter testing on all fluids”.

IBR Laboratories are accredited by A2LA (USA) and UKAS (UK).  IFTS is accredited by COFRAC (France).

November 17, 2016 – IBR (UK) Ltd. after completion of a major capital upgrade to the internal test chamber at its Milton Keynes facility, IBR now offer testing services for portable household room air cleaners at both its US and UK Laboratories.  Testing is conducted according to AHAM AC-1 Method for Measuring Performance of Portable Household Electric Room Air Cleaners (also referenced IEC/PAS 62857).  IBR’s US laboratory is the Alternate Lab for the AHAM Certification Program.

October 7, 2016 –Milton Keynes England – IBR (UK) Ltd. received confirmation that it had fully satisfied the requirements of the May 2016 audit by UKAS.  Our updated scope of accreditation is now available on the UKAS Website www.ukas.com

May 22, 2016 – IBR Laboratories will participate in the Filtech 2016 Exhibition and Conference, October 11-13, Cologne, Germany.  We will be presenting the most recent updates to our global capabilities for the detection and analysis of particulate contamination and verification of filtration performance in air, water, oil and fuel.  IBR will be located in Hall 11.1 Exhibit Stand F8.

May 2, 2016 – San Antonio, Texas – At the ASTM Committee Week meeting, Daniel Miller, IBR Laboratories’ Engineering Manager received the Award of Merit and accompanying title of fellow from Committee F11 on Vacuum cleaners.  The Award of Merit is the highest society award granted to individual members for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM technical committee activities.

March 31, 2015 – Milton Keynes, England – IBR (UK) Ltd. will again host four days of IEC and CENELEC Working Group meetings at its Milton Keynes facility 20-23 April 2015.  The working groups; IEC WG3, WG4, WG7, WG9, CENELEC WG6 are all engaged in the development of Vacuum Cleaner performance standards primary to the EcoDesign and Energy Label programs for these appliances. IEC WG3 is responsible for Dry Surface Cleaning Appliances,  WG4 has responsibility for Wet Surface Cleaning Appliances, WG7 is responsible for Methods of measuring performance of vacuum cleaners under battery operation and WG9 is responsible for carpets and other Testing Materials currently specified in standards maintained and planned by IEC SC59F.  CENELEC WG6 under European Mandate U M/353 has the responsibility for “Elaboration and adoption of Measurement Standards” for household Vacuum Cleaners.

December 10, 2014 – Milton Keynes, England – IBR (UK) Ltd. will host three days of IEC and CENELEC Working Group meetings at its Milton Keynes facility 18-20 February 2015.  The working groups; IEC WG9, CENELEC WG6 and CENELEC WG6-SW1 are all engaged in the development of standards primary to the EcoDesign and Energy Label programs for Vacuum Cleaners. IEC WG9 is responsible for carpets and other Testing Materials currently specified in standards maintained and planned by IEC SC59F.  CENELEC WG6 under EU M/353 has the responsibility for “Elaboration and adoption of Measurement Standards” for household Vacuum Cleaners.  CENELEC WG6-SW1 is a newly designate sub-working group of WG-6 for determining the necessary modifications to the EN60312-1:2013 Standard required for the unique properties of Water Filter Vacuum Cleaners which will be included in the 2017 EcoDesign/Energy Label requirements.

June 11, 2014 – Milton Keynes, England – IBR (UK) Ltd. received confirmation that it had fully satisfied the requirements of the May 2014 audit by UKAS and our updated scope of accreditation is now available on the UKAS Website www.ukas.com.

February 15, 2014 – Grass Lake, MI – IBR Laboratories increased its hydraulic filter testing capabilities to include tests to 150 gpm and 150 psig for protocols ISO 4548-12 or ISO 16889.  This enables precision testing for large hydraulic filter applications in critical industries such as nuclear power plants.

January 14, 2014 – IBR (UK) Ltd expands its range of UKAS accredited filter and filter media testing services to include EN1822 requirements.

December 5, 2013 – IBR (UK) Ltd. completes expansion of Milton Keynes facility.  The enlarged laboratory area and environmental controlled storage space significantly raises output capacity in response to increased demand associated with the recently enacted EU EcoDesign/Energy Label directives.
